I got a cute little D-Link USB bluetooth adapter yesterday, but unfortunately, I don't have any bluetooth toys to play with yet. How very sad for me. The plan is, once I start my job and get a credit card, I'm going to get a new cell phone plan in my own name (as opposed to my dad's), and along with that I'm going to get a bluetooth enabled phone, so I can use iSync to keep my data on my phone in sync with the data on my computer (and my iPod, and on .mac, and on my Palm, and so on).
Other things on my wish list include: A new pair of Docs (my current pair is 4.5 years old); Possibly also a pair of tennis shoes; A wide screen tv (to fully take advantage of SSX 3 when it's released in October); An external keyboard (and possibly a display) for my PowerBook; A new digital camera (in particular, a Canon S230 or an S400); And maybe a bike.
But pretty much everything in that last list is a lower priority than getting a car, which I'm scheduled to (try to) do next weekend. I feel like I've done plenty of research at this point, and I just need to actually test drive the cars to see what I think. In particular, I've done a lot of research on the Honda Civic Hybrid and the Toyota Prius. I've been reading as many anecdotes and personal reviews as possible, trying to convince myself that the lower emissions, support of greener alternatives, and lower gas consumption are worth a few thousand extra dollars. We'll see.
Actually, I think I've decided that I want a 2004 Prius (flash warning. blah.), which would mean I'd have to be BART/Caltraining until October (or possibly November) until the new Prius comes out. So really, I just have to convince myself I can wait that long. Then, I'll be able to use my bluetooth enabled phone with my bluetooth enabled car. Absurd, and yet, strangely appealing.
