More on NPR.

My NPR addiction started when I switched my alarm from buzz to radio. I figured I would be less likely to snooze the radio if something was on that wasn't just annoying, and I chose KQED because I didn't want to listent to Howard Stern on Live 105.

The radio did a pretty good job of getting me to wake up and not hit snooze 500 times. The problem was, I'd gradually wake up, but once I was listening to what they were talking about, I found I ended up staying in bed even longer than when I was just just using the snooze button.

Apparently I'm going to need to get a radio for my bathroom, and for the first time, I wish the iPod had a radio tuner.

I guess I should get out of bed now...

A handy article about, but what I find most interesting about this is the use of a blogspot blog to publish a single article. (via Ernie)

Digital distribution is the future because it has to be.

Morford's recent article (Earth To Humankind: Back Off) combined with the linked article about "The Long Emergency" aren't exactly uplifting reads, to say the least. After reading them, I had one little idea that would make a small difference: how about we stop mass distribting physical media? No more packaging, no more CDs or DVDs, etc. For these things that can be distributed in a purely digital form, why not make that the primary distribution method now, instead of before it's too late even for that?

I know, it's a crazy idea, but I can't help but wonder how much material must go into those industries.

Craigslist Housing / Google Maps mash-up

I love maps, and I love craigslist, so of course I think this is awesome, but I can't help but feel a little jealous that I didn't come up with this hack first. Of course, it'd still be nice if there were pictures of the neighborhoods each of those apartments were in... ;-)

One quarter down…

My recent addiction to NPR KQED combined with the fact that I actually owed taxes for the first time this year actually makes me feel older than the fact that I just turned 25.
