Off to Europe!

My flight leaves from SFO at 3:40. The schedule is roughly Amsterdam 4 days, (a stop in Cologne), Paris 4 days, Brussels 2 days (with a side trip to Gent). I get back December 3rd.

I may drop a note along the way, but otherwise I have a good old fashioned pen and paper journal and a brand new Canon PowerShot SD300 (which I would linkify, but powershot.com doesn't seem to be working right now and I'm in a hurry).

Be nice to your liver: it needs to last at least 4 more years.

Alternately: "I can last 4 more years, but I don't know about my liver."

I now have a t-shirt that says "Nov 4, 2008," and I kind of want a shirt of a blue picture of California.

However, I'm undecided on which phrasing of this joke I prefer:

  1. All this talk of a "GOP mandate" is a little scary. Three percent isn't a mandate... Some hot Bush/Cheney action? Now *that'd* be a mandate.
  2. I'm a little confused about all this talk of a "mandate." Didn't 11 states just ban those? Don't get me wrong, though: I think a little Bush/Cheney lovin' would do them good.

I actually believe that this ad (which I didn't see out here in CA) is what could have made the difference in the election.

How organized religion, not net religion, won it for Bush

Sigh. Another reminder that I'm going to have to give more than money next time.

And I was hoping I was joking when I suggested I was going to need to get a shirt that says "Can I stay here?" for my trip to Amsterdam/Paris/Brussels at the end of this month. But for today, I wore this:
