I knew Star Trek science was bad, but this is ridiculous.

So here I am half-watching DS9, when suddenly Dr. Bashir said "... a broken femur, and a hairline fracture of the right parietal lobe."

Man! What kind of moron does it take to make that ridiculous of a mistake?

If you’re confused as to what the problem is, the parietal lobe is part of the brain. It’s not even bone, so you can’t fracture it.

Perhaps the ‘hairline fracture’ was actually in *Bashir’s* parietal lobe, in Wernekie’s area, to be specific, and he just got confused about the terminology. ;-)

Or maybe he was talking about a Ferengi, with entirely different lobes, or a Klingon, who wel all know are pretty bone-headded?

That’s what medical doctors are like in a world where you solve every medical problem by pointing a beam at it.

Nice thoughts Kevin, but he was talking about a human.
