Last Tuesday Mr. Pi asked me if I wanted to go over to his aunts house to watch “The Fifth Element” on a screen of large dimensions.
I was forced to decline, as Thursday is my day which I go and have programming classes at the Junior College.
Which irritated me somewhat, because as I recall that was a good movie.
So I went off to class, and was sitting there bored, as I usually do…
But then my teacher, who sounds exactly like the voice of gandalf from the lord of the rings cartoon/movie, mentioned arrays. At this, I perked up, because arrays are quite the useful things.
He did some stuff on the board, and finally wrote this on the board:
*(x+5) = 23;
and asked what that would do.
I started to say “It’ll store 23 into x sub 5…” but at that point my brain fried.
23?? 5?? 23?? 5??
I stopped, and the class looked my way.
I started again: “It will store 23 into the fifth element of…”
It was at this point which I seriously began to wonder just who up there was plotting against me.
It was also at this point that I gave up.
